Architectural Design Thesis: RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL.
I wanted to create a space with maximum interaction of the human and the environment. Children are the most responsive humans to their surrounding. They give the best and true reactions to their environment. This lead me to the study of the education system in India, the early growth nature of the child and the teaching environment.
Understanding the kids perspective of how he/she view the school, the journey from the bedroom to the classroom became the base of the landscape around the residential school. The inclusion of all the natural elements for interaction and learning helped bring more skills development in the standard education format. The play of light and shadow, the ups and downs due to the contour from one zone to other created the transition spaces more interactive and fun.
Residence for the staff and their separate recreational spaces created a different zone, so that they could keep family and work apart, personalizing the area in-spite being in the same vicinity.
